About Our Community

The Padmasali community is rooted in Hindu mythology, tracing its lineage to Lord Sriman Narayana and Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma, born from Narayana's navel, had a spiritual son, Bhrigu Maharishi, who followed the Vaikhanasa tradition. Bhrigu's wife Kyathi bore children: Bhargavi (Lakshmi, consort of Lord Vishnu), Dhata, and Vidhata. The community carries the Bhargava gotra, linked to Lakshmi. Dhata's son, Praanudu, and Vidhata's son, Mrukanda Maharishi, continue the lineage. Mrukanda's son, Markandeya Maharishi, had a son, Bhavanarayana (Veda Shirsha), born from a sacrificial fire.
